stop holding me verbally hostage

why must we place so much importance on texting? texting is a whole new language, complete with its own invisible backdrop of expectations and assumptions. don’t text too fast, don’t open a text unless you’re going to respond right away, and whatever you do, don’t double text. i can’t tell you how many times in my life i’ll wait a day or two to open and respond to a message, only to be met with “i thought you hated me” or “i was worried you were mad at me.” it’s never that serious. why must we always be in constant communication. text me back right away even though we are going to see each other in 2 minutes. call me everyday so we can talk about nothing. is that love or anxious Attachment?
